{"id":5421,"date":"2012-10-12T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-10-12T04:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/192.168.195.175\/index.php\/2012\/10\/12\/man-is-promised-his-sweethearts-hand-on-his-100th-birthday\/"},"modified":"2012-10-12T04:00:00","modified_gmt":"2012-10-12T04:00:00","slug":"man-is-promised-his-sweethearts-hand-on-his-100th-birthday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.goodworldnews.org\/index.php\/2012\/10\/12\/man-is-promised-his-sweethearts-hand-on-his-100th-birthday\/","title":{"rendered":"Man is promised his sweetheart&#8217;s hand on his 100th birthday"},"content":{"rendered":"<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-5420\" src=\"http:\/\/192.168.195.175\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/7ab716354432ee12f19b58c60471093b.jpg\" alt=\"Image Credit: Age Well Senior Center in Dana Point\" class=\"caption\" title=\"Rose Pollard Lunsway, 90, and Forrest Lunsway, 100, tying the knot\" width=\"562\" height=\"375\" \/>\n<p>Meet Forrest Lunsway, a 100 year old man who has found true love in Rose Pollard Lunsway, his 90 year old sweetheart.\u00a0 It is so wonderful to hear a heartwarming story of two people devoting their lives to each other.<\/p>\n<p>How did these two love birds meet?\u00a0 The happy couple met on a blind date at a senior center dance in the 80&#8217;s.\u00a0 They were instantly inseparable.\u00a0 Forrest and Rose would go dancing several times a week and fell deeply in love.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Both of them had been married before, but their spouses passed away.\u00a0 Rose said that her first marriage was a good one, but her husband was sick for a while before passing away.\u00a0 \u201cAfter that, I had decided that I had no intention of remarrying,\u201d Rose explained.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But Forrest had other plans &#8211; he followed his heart and asked Rose for her hand in marriage.\u00a0 Even though she loved him, Rose held her ground about marriage.\u00a0 Rose said, \u201cI told him, \u2018I\u2019ll marry you on your 100th birthday,&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The two continued to date for 30 years!\u00a0 During that time they went on many adventures &#8211; hiking the coast of California, kayaked in Alaska, and of course they danced.\u00a0 They always stay active &#8211; This is something that they attribute to their longevity.\u00a0 Rose stated, \u201cMy husband is very, very active.
