Split seconds are where heroes are made.\u00a0 Tony Buuck, a 12 year old from Indiana made a split decision that saved his sister’s life.<\/p>\n

He heard his sister, Sammy, scream as she fell in the pond.\u00a0 Tony immediately ran towards the pond and raced across the ice.\u00a0 He grabbed her, but fell in as well.\u00a0 Their father, Dale, ran onto the pond to help and he fell in, but managed to swim to shore.<\/p>\n

“The more I pulled him up he [Tony]still had her by the coat, and he never let go of her in the cold water. [Tony] treaded water that whole time, with one hand and never let go of her,” Dale said with tears in his eyes.<\/p>\n

Soon they were all on shore and Tony immediately called 911 as his sister was unconscious.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

The EMS revived Sammy and now Tony is being hailed as a hero.<\/p>\n

“\u2026I think a lot of people wouldn’t have done it. I don’t want to have all the glory and stuff,” Tony said.<\/p>\n
