It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s…..Boy Scout troop 850 from New Jersey?!  Yes, you heard it – The 17 boy scouts were vacationing in Key West, FL when they saw a shirtless man sprinting away from a frantic tourist.  The tourist, Adriano Furlan from Brazil, was yelling for help stating that the shirtless man stole his wallet and phone.

The boy scouts who were on their bikes, began their pursuit of the villain while keeping a safe distance to avoid detection and catching the everything on camera.  The troops watched the thief turn a corner to hide and catch his breath and immediately called the police.  When the authorities arrived, they promptly arrested 38 year old Jason Norwood charging him with larceny and grand theft.  The boy scouts then fanned out and helped the officers find the phone and wallet which the thief threw along the way.

After arrest, Norwood proclaimed his innocence, but really – who’s going to believe a thief over 17 boy scouts?  Tim Spring, the troop leader stated: The cops came and told the guy, ‘Well you’re going to have a difficult time in court because the judge is going to ask you what you did and then he’s going to ask 17 boy scouts, and who do you think he’s going to believe?” Spring said.

The scouts definitely fulfilled their oath to “To help other people at all times; “.  I think that deserves a badge 🙂

Peace & Love,

Jon
