Mel Schwanke, 86, and Joey Schwanke, 81, from Fremont, Neb started coordinating their outfits decades ago. They partially credit the success of their 64 year marriage to their matching outfits.

Joey’s 146 dresses are cut from the same fabric as the 146 ties that Mel owns. It all began when Joey was making a dress and Mel did not believe that the belt she was making complemented her. They decided to make a tie for Mel instead and BAM! – matching outfits began.
The loving couple never leaves the house without having properly matching outfits. Mel always wears a tie to match Joey, is cleanly shaven, and has tailored pants. Mel states “When you live with the most beautiful woman in the whole world, you’ve gotta keep looking good”.
Maybe the key to a long happy marriage is not so complicated after all 🙂
