Superwoman? Definitely.  At the age of 26, Heather Knies had two tumors in her brain and was given only six months to live.  Heather did not give up hope.

She said that God “had a plan” for her and she knew that she would survive.  She did more than survive – after intense radiation, she is now cancer FREE!  As if that wasn’t good news, she met her husband while undergoing treatment and when she was cancer free they had their first child 🙂  Having a child after such intense radiation is really incredible since this type of treatment can damage a woman’s eggs.

Dr. Robert Spetzler, the director of the Barrow Neurological Institute at Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix was one of the super doctors who operated on Heather.  He said that he has never seen a recovery like this in is 35 years as a neurosurgeon. “I would not feel comfortable calling it a cure, but there is no evidence of a tumor. Her survival is remarkable.”, Dr. Spetzler states.
